The Relationship Between Origami Activities and Fine Motor Skills in Early Childhood

Fine motor development is an important aspect of early childhood development that needs to be stimulated through various learning activities. One activity that can develop children's fine motor skills is paper folding (origami). This study aims to determine the relationship between paper folding (origami) and fine motor skills in early childhood. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The research sample consisted of 25 children from two classes, B1 and B3. Data collection techniques used observation and documentation, using an observation sheet for children's fine motor skills. Data analysis was conducted through normality tests, linearity tests, and Pearson correlation tests using SPSS. The results showed a very strong and significant relationship between paper folding (origami) and fine motor skills in early childhood, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.837 and a significance level of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Thus, origami activities can be an effective alternative learning activity for developing children's fine motor skills.

This article aims to examine how character education
innovations are developed in Early Childhood Education Units.
This research method was conducted using qualitative research
with a descriptive approach. This study implemented character
education in the Aisyiyah 1 Integrated Early Childhood
Education Unit in Bukittinggi City using four methods:logical,
analytical, feeling and reasoning. There are 3 service programs in this
Early Childhood Education Unit, namely Kindergarten,
Playgroup and Childcare, by instilling character education that
has a different program every day, but it is necessary to socialize
it by involving the role of parents in instilling these character
values. Through the literacy character building program
"IRAMA" Interaction with Mama Papa which is a program to
strengthen character building in children. Thus, the development
of character education innovation in Integrated Early Childhood
Education can be implemented and run optimally through
collaboration between teachers and parents

The Evolution of Early Childhood Parenting Patterns From an Authoritarian Style to a Responsive Approach

Early childhood parenting is a crucial foundation for developing character, social skills, and emotional intelligence from an early age. One significant shift in parenting practices is the transition from a rigid authoritarian style to a responsive approach that emphasizes empathy, communication, and respect for children's individual needs. However, in reality, many parents still implement authoritarian parenting without considering the principles of child development. This article aims to theoretically examine the basic concepts, characteristics, and factors influencing the transition from authoritarian to responsive parenting in early childhood, as well as its implications for child development. This research uses a literature review method by reviewing various scientific articles, developmental theories, and relevant parenting policies. The analysis was conducted descriptively and qualitatively by identifying key themes, such as the principles of two-way communication, positive discipline, emotional attachment, and the role of the family and social environment in shaping parenting patterns. The study results indicate that responsive parenting can increase children's self-confidence, strengthen social skills, and foster healthy emotional regulation. Key factors for the success of this transition include increased parenting literacy, community support, and active parental involvement in children's learning processes. This study provides a theoretical contribution that can be used as a reference in developing parenting strategies that are more in line with the principles of early childhood development.

The Role of the Andragogical Approach in Improving Parents Educational Competence in Early Childhood Education in the Modern Era

Early childhood education is closely linked to the role of parents
as the first and most influential educators in a child's life.
Furthermore, many parents lack the knowledge, skills, and
readiness to optimally fulfill this educational role. Therefore, the
andragogical approach, a learning method specifically designed
for adults, emerges as a potential solution. This study aims to
examine the role of the andragogical approach in enhancing
parents' educational competence in early childhood education.
This study employed a qualitative literature study method, in
which the authors examined various theoretical concepts
regarding andragogy and related them to the conditions and
challenges faced by parents today. The analysis showed that the
andragogical approach provides a more relevant and contextual
learning experience for parents. Furthermore, this approach
encourages active involvement, reflection, and strengthening
intrinsic motivation in learning. The application of andragogical
principles in parent training has resulted in improved parenting
quality, enhanced educational interactions within the family
environment, and more effective and sustainable support for
children's character development.
