Abstract

The development of modern science in the Western world has brought significant technological progress, but it has also given rise to serious problems such as the loss of the spiritual dimension, the reduction of the meaning of life, moral degradation, and an ecological crisis due to the mechanistic and materialistic orientation of science. This crisis demonstrates that the modern scientific paradigm is unable to fully address human needs comprehensively. Based on this context, this article aims to examine the Islamization of Science as an alternative paradigm that seeks to restore the integration of reason, revelation, and ethical values. A literature review of the thoughts of al-Attas, al-Faruqi, and Nasr shows that the Islamization of Science is not an attempt to reject modern science, but rather to reconstruct its epistemological structure through the principle of monotheism. The results of this study indicate that this model is able to offer a holistic, humanistic, and welfare-oriented scientific framework, thus being considered relevant to address the crisis of modern science.
