The Prophet Muhammad SAW is known as a skilled communicator who was able to convey the teachings of Islam with wisdom, empathy, and effective strategies. Through the hadiths that record his communication practices, Islamic communication values can be found that touch not only spiritual aspects, but also social and psychological aspects. The Prophet's communication skills not only succeeded in building harmonious relationships with his followers but also laid the foundation for an inclusive and transformative da'wah. This study aims to examine the principles and strategies of the Prophet's communication as reflected in authentic hadiths and to explore their relevance in building social relationships and conveying da'wah in the contemporary era. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach using library research. Primary sources include hadith collections such as Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, and works by classical and contemporary scholars in the fields of Islamic communication and da'wah. The research findings indicate that the Prophet's communication art is based on values such as i) honesty, ii) firmness with kindness, iii) empathy, iv) the use of analogies (tamtsīl), v) strategic silence, and open dialogue. The media no longer merely serves as a channel for disseminating news but has evolved into a social actor capable of shaping public opinion, pressuring legal institutions, and influencing the course of judicial proceedings. This article aims to comprehensively examine the role of the mass media in the dynamics of law enforcement in the digital age, by analysing the positive and negative impacts of media involvement in legal processes. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and content analysis of several high-profile legal cases that have received extensive coverage from online and print media. The results of the study show that the mass media has six main roles in this context, namely as i) a disseminator of legal information, ii) a tool for social control over the performance of legal institutions, iii) a shaper of public opinion, iv) a catalyst for public participation, a facilitator of advocacy processes, and as v) an actor with the potential to create public pressure through the phenomenon of trial by media. Therefore, the implications of this study emphasise the importance of strengthening journalistic ethics, regulating legal content in the media, and improving public legal literacy so that the mass media can truly become a constructive partner in supporting the rule of law in the global information era.</p> Irma Dani Armadila Armadila Reno Andika Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Islamic Communication and Journalism 2025-04-28 2025-04-28 1 1 30 39 Jurnalistic Ethics and Media Law: Pillars of Broadcasting Professionalism https://e-journal.stai-ydi.ac.id/index.php/jocum/article/view/429 <p>The digital information era has driven transformation in journalism and broadcasting practices, requiring synergy between media law and professional ethics. This study aims to analyse the influence of media law on the implementation of journalistic ethics and professionalism in broadcasting. Using a qualitative approach through literature review and regulatory document analysis, this study examines legal instruments such as Law No. 32 of 2002 on Broadcasting, KPI regulations, and the Press Council's Journalistic Code of Ethics. The research findings reveal five key findings: i) media law provides a normative framework that limits and guides broadcasting practices, ii) journalistic ethics strengthen the social responsibility of media professionals, iii) there is tension between the demands of press freedom and compliance with the law and moral values, iv) broadcasting professionalism can only be achieved through a balance between legal compliance and the internalisation of ethics and v) low legal and ethical literacy among media workers is a serious challenge. The implications of this study emphasise the importance of media ethics and law education in newsrooms and the need to strengthen regulations that favour the public interest. This is crucial to maintaining credible, ethical, and professional broadcasting quality amid the ever evolving global information flow.</p> Berlianda Indah Putri Armadila Armadila Yuli Sabri Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Islamic Communication and Journalism 2025-04-28 2025-04-28 1 1 40 49
